There is a slim chance that the conjoined babies (two heads sharing a single female body), who were born last Tuesday in Sta. Cruz, Manila, will live longer, said the infant’s attending physician.
Fabella Medical Center Newborn Unit chief Dr. Melissa Juico said that they have placed the baby, who was described as being “Dicephalus Monozygotic” or a baby with two heads and two necks, under a 2D Echo Examination and abdominal and scanner ultrasound.

Executive Order No. 13 has been declared by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte creating the Kadayawan Steering Committe and declaring the Kadayawan event dates.
SECTION 5. Festival Dates. The 2009 Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival shall be held on August 17 to 23, 2009 in Davao City to also coincide with the Indigenous Peoples Day.

The day’s fashion statement
The A(H1N1) virus did not stop the tens of thousands of people from different parts of Manila and from nearby provinces to march to Makati City for the anti-Con Ass rally.
United colors
Members of cause-oriented groups and political groups marched thru Ayala Avenue armed with colorful anti-Con Ass banners and… garlic – supposedly to keep the “ass-wang” away.

The rally was generally peaceful.

The long and tastiest barbeque in town

Chicken barbeque
When in Davao City, one cannot ignore the sights of barbeque and ihaw-ihaw house in every sidewalk around the city. Barbeque and grilled seafood are more famous here (as well as fruit stands during harvest season) than fast food.
Dabawenyos would normally go to a barbeque house after a Sunday mass in San Pedro Church as a family treat. Near the front of the church you can find stalls of barbeque and ihaw-ihaw along Rizal Park to Magallanes Street. During Kadayawan, the Rizal Park would put up tents to extend the ihaw-ihaw area to facilitate tourists feasting on Davao’s favorite native chicken barbeque and tuna inihaw.
There are lots of choices but there is only one I would recommend for its delicious chicken barbeque and ihaw-ihaw that can only be found here in Davao City. The name of the restaurant is Delongtes, located along Matina, near SM Davao. They have also branches in malls around Davao but their main restaurant in Matina is the most popular. Also, don’t be fooled by the “pirated version” spelled as “Delongtest” (with a T), it’s not in any way related to the original Delongtes.

Delongtes have the best chicken barbeque your taste buds will be looking for after your visit in Davao. It is very unique and hindi nakakasawa and it is not expensive. Chicken barbeque costs only Php 55-60 with rice. Along with the fruits and Davao tourist destinations, your Davao experience is incomplete without dining at Delongtes.

Last Sunday, SM Mall of Asia and Unilever sponsored Bellissima Filipina Flores de Mayo – a version of Santa Cruzan with mixed Filipino-Spanish, European, and modern touch.
The Sagalas featured gowns by local designers including Renée Salud. Celebrities also participated as Sagalas and escorts. Sighted were Megan Young, Janina San Miguel, among others.
